Kenneth (Kenny) H. Fisher, of St Louis, Missouri, died on March 16, 2023, just short of his 73rd birthday. Kenny was born on March 22, 1950, at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan. He grew up in North Muskegon, Michigan, graduating from North Muskegon High School in 1968. He graduated from Northwestern University.
Kenny touched many lives. He spent 26 years as a flight attendant with Pan Am and TWA where his patience and an ever-ready sense of humor served him well. Kenny ran marathons in all 50 states, 12 Canadian province/territories and 25 countries, total of 173 marathons (2 ultra marathons) including 4 Paris Marathons supporting the fight against cancer.
After retiring as a flight attendant, Kenny spent 13 years teaching middle school kids German, French, and Spanish by taking on another 11 personas (each with their own school ID)! He was beloved by his students, each of whom thought he was "Mr. Fisher's" favorite.
Kenny loved Lake Michigan (on the Michigan side, of course), running in Forest Park (St. Louis)with the Frontrunners, volunteering at Great Rivers Greenway, visiting sites with the Historical Sites Meetup Groups, admiring the 'flowers & sunshine' at the Missouri Botanical Garden, walking his adored 3 dogs and sharing visits at assisted living homes, and enjoying The MUNY productions and the precious bricks he so thoughtfully dedicated to friends and family members.
Ken is survived by his partner, Mark Nowlan, of St Louis; his sister, Nancy Fisher Chudacoff, and her husband, Howard P. Chudacoff, of Providence, Rhode Island; many loving cousins, and his three dogs Rosey, Loulette, and Pepite. His parents, Bernard Fisher and Bette Wolfgang Fisher, predeceased him.
A memorial service for Ken will take place in St. Louis, Missouri and Muskegon, Michigan at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), Missouri Botanical Garden, The MUNY in St Louis, or Great Rivers Greenway in St Louis.
