An environmentally friendly option

Bob and I met in sophomore year at Morgan Park High School. We became fast friends. That friendship lasted 58 years, through high school, college and beyond. Thank you Bob for all the times you helped me figure out a solution to a home improvement problem. Thank you for mentoring my three sons and taking them places I didn't have time to. You were the best friend anyone could have had. Godspeed my friend.

Since I hadn't seen you in years, I was hoping someone would post a photo of you. Although I won't miss you calling me decades ago, encouraging me to ditch work in favor of playing in Lake Michigan, I will regret not hearing any more tales of your global adventures, USN airplane recoveries in the lake off the historic Pullman district, getting antibiotics from your veterinarian (shout-out to Lambchop), when you were sick, watching VHS tapes of million dollar gun boats used in narcotics trafficing, etc. You were a colorful dreamer with a real disdain for neckties and the nine-to-five. You had a pretty face and a vocabulary that let you get your way. I will think of you every time some fool buzzes my house in a single-engine aircraft. We'll never forget you. Sorry you broke that promise to meet up with all of us next month when you blew through Chicago. Soar high, my friend.

So sorry for your loss and know that Bob will be missed greatly.

O Oakley Blair on Sep 23, 2022

Bob, we were friends all through Morgan Park HS. You were my ROTC Captain. After HS we went out into the world. You went sailing and I went to Wyoming & Montana. Even though we were thousands of miles apart you always found time to keep in touch with your letters or telephone calls. Thank you. I shall miss our phone conversations. Rest In Peace old friend.
