Dear Lois and family, my heart goes out to each of you as you mourn Marty's passing. I first knew him in 7th grade and from then on he was a good and cheerful friend. Rest in peace Marty.
Met Marty through Warren Wickland and it was hard to choose who was the bigger “Big Red fan”Marty was always very positive with a smile on his face. Just made you feel good.
What a great loss. RIP Marty, Marty was a true gentleman and I had the honor to know him many years when he was in Purchasing at Gordon.

Our heartfelt condolences to Lois, and to Marty's entire family. In addition to memories of his days at MHS, I have a special memory of our time at Western Michigan University and our initiation into WMU's "W" club.
I am sending my love to Lois and the whole Family from me, Karen Waalkes, my son ,Adam Waalkes, daughter, Rita Waalkes, and on behalf of my husband, now deceased, Sam Waalkes, who was Marty's cousin. He was a good guy and will be missed by all. Sorry that I can't be at the service, but, I am flying back to Seattle on that day. Love,

Friend, classmate (Moon School, Central Jr. Hi, Muskegon High), team mate ( Moon School through High School); always ready for a laugh. He had a great shot from the corner of the BB court just as he had on his corner of Life. One of a kind. You will be missed Marty.
