Mr. Clement (Clem) Byron France, age 88 died January 2, 2020, following a battle with cancer. He was born November 9,1931, in Hart, Michigan to Claude and Minnie (Markillie) France. On February 2, 1952 he married Carol Jean Langler. Clem was a Navy veteran serving from 1949 to 1954. He was the Boy Scout Master for the Holton area for 20 years and was a member of the Order of Arrow. He enjoyed fishing, building, and driving semi-trucks. He retired from Wal-Mart in Fremont in October 2018.
Clem is survived by his daughters Nancy Maycroft of Muskegon and Vickie (Jerry) DeGroat of Holton and son Randy (Marcy Fox) of Holton, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and Janet Langler of Twin Lake, Stanley Bush Sr. of Fremont, 21 grandchildren. Clem was preceded in death by his wife Carol Jean of 59 years, his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and son-in-law Larry Maycroft.
Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Holton United Methodist Church, 9530 Holton Duck Lake Rd, Holton, MI, with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating. MEMORIAL: Contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation of Muskegon.
