Winnie L. Huling, nee China, died Monday, June 11, 2007. Winnie was born January 18, 1915 in Ambrose, Georgia to B.L. and Mamie (Day) China. She married James H. Huling on May 13, 1936. Winnie graduated from South Georgia College in 1934 and then earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Florida in 1953. She started her teaching career in 1944 in Hickox, GA. She continued to teach until her retirement in 1983 from Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Jacksonville, FL. Winnie enjoyed traveling to visit her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren in Michigan and Georgia. They always looked forward to her cooking them a fried chicken dinner during her visit. In early 2002, she moved from Jacksonville, FL to HHCC-Knollview in Muskegon, Michigan. She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Lyle) Mudgett of Ravenna, MI; her son, Robert Huling of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Sharon Mudgett, Joni (Jim) Wagner, Donald Mudgett and Scott Mudgett; 3 great-grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, and Hannah Mudgett. She was predeceased by her brother, Bennie China; parents; husband; son, James H. Huling, Jr., and granddaughter-in-law Trish Mudgett. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Health-Knollview activities.
