Wilma Hekkema

Mrs. Wilma G. "Billie" Hekkema, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007. She was born June 21, 1925 in Muskegon to Jacob and Hattie (Boerema) Herlein and lived in the area all of her life. On June 21, 1946, she married William "Bill" Hekkema and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2003. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, William Andrew (Tena) Hekkema, Bruce Jay (Bonnie) Hekkema; 2 grandchildren, William Andrew Hekkema, Jr. and Lisa Ann (Jeremy) Derksen; 2 great-grandchildren, Cody and Samantha Derksen; 1 sister, Pauline Smith; 1 sister-in-law, Nellie Herlein; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jay and Louis Herlein, and 3 sisters, Grace Bosma, Trena Drewes, and Jule Drenth. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 29, 2007 at Calvary Bible Church (4617 Grand Haven Rd.) with the Revs. James Bos and Tim Beggs officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
