Mrs. Wilma. Gerst, age 90, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was born in St. Francisville, IL on April 12, 1921 to Frank & Echo (Redabaugh) McAdow and married Merrill B. Gerst on May 8, 1942. Mrs. Gerst had been employed as a Cook at Reeths-Puffer Schools for 12 years until retiring in 1988. Wilma had belonged to Hi Nabors and Merry Mixers Square Dancing Groups. She volunteered at the McMillan School Reading Program, receiving the 10 year award for her devotion. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose family always came before herself. Her love was always shown in her sewing and baking. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Sons, Merrill "Jim" (Doris) Gerst of Muskegon, Tom (Kathleen) Gerst of Twin Lake, Mike (Beth) Gerst of Grand Rapids; daughters, Sharon (Dick) Parker of Holton, Janis (Mike) Knevitt of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Harry McAdow of Muskegon; sisters, Ella Radel of Roosevelt Park, Lucretia Brott of Muskegon; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill in 2008; parents, Frank and Echo; brothers, John, Owen and Frank. SERVICE Saturday, June 4, 2011, 11:00 AM at Calvary Memorial Church with Pastor Jeffery Dunn officiating. Interment at Twin Lake Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: American Diabetes Association or Alzheimers Association.
