Mr. William (Bill) Hall Thieman, of Montague, age 92, passed away June 3, 2007. Born and raised in Montague, on June 9, 1914, to John and Nellie (Hall) Thieman, he continued to live and work in Montague for the remainder of his life. On December 14, 1934, he married Illa Fern Minor of Muskegon and together the two shared their lives here in Montague. Bill's younger years were spent working with his father as a mason. He also worked at Kaydon and Continental Motors in Muskegon. He built the Park Theater in 1947, opening for business in February of 1948, which he and his wife Illa ran with their children for 24 years. Bill also served on the Montague Fire Department, drove a school bus for the Montague Public Schools, worked for the Montague Post Office for 18 years and he also indulged in his favorite hobby of horses for the most part of his life. He was a past member of the Rotary Club and life-time member of the Montague United Methodist Church. FAMILY: Bill is survived by his wife, Illa; one son, Robert (Jane) Thieman of Manistee; two daughters, Sally McLouth and Illana (Charley) Hoglund, both of Montague; nine grandchildren, Dawn (Randy) Johnson, Carrie (Curt) Mathieu, Tom (Chris) Thieman, Sondra McLouth, Julie (Pat) Ferrier, Cindy (Ted) Pawlowski, Shannon (Melissa) McLouth, Laurie (Ken) Walsama and Darren (Beth) Schultz; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth (Carl) Ramthun, Una (Walter) Ramthun, Lucille Thieman and 2 infant siblings. SERVICE: Private services have been held.
