MCARTHUR, MR. WILLI AM E. Muskegon Mr. William E. McArthur, age 86, died Thursday, January 12, 2006. He was born in Durand, MI on January 22, 1919 to Lorn & Alma (Franklin) McArthur & married the former Lois E. VanderWerf on January 30, 1943. Mr. McArthur served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII & flew on B-29's in the Pacific campaign. Bill spent his career in the Muskegon area as an insurance agent working for several agencies and making many friends. His later years were spent working on "his" beloved Lionel Train set at Nelson Place were he continued to live until his death, and his decision at 82 years of age that he "Needed" a 36 foot cabin cruiser (named Just Because) so he could cruise Muskegon Lake. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Lynne (Chris Hansen) McArthur of Washington DC & Olympia, WA & Marianne (Jerry Cassell) McArthur of Lawton, MI; 1 son, Bradley (Leah) McArthur of Muskegon; 3 grandsons, Todd (Michelle) Marsh & Ryan & Craig McArthur; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Katherine Hazard of Muskegon; brother, Lorn McArthur of CA; 1 brother-in-law, Paul (Ann) VanderWerf of Scottsdale, AZ;1 sister-in-law, Dorothy VanderWerf of NJ & several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois on January 5, 1995. MEMORIAL GATHERING At Bill's request a Memorial Gathering will take place, Monday, January 16, 2006, 1-4:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
