Doughty, Mr. William Hugh Coopersville, Michigan William Hugh Doughty, age 64, of Coopersville, MI, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022. Bill grew up in Indianapolis, IN, where he attended Howe High School. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. He assisted Vietnamese refugees at the camp's relocation center during his time there. After serving in the Marines, Bill returned to Indianapolis, eventually moving to Brown County, Indiana, then settling in west Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Susan; children Mary Beth (Chris) Collier, Meghan Doughty, and Aaron (Angelica) Doughty; sisters Sherri (Kelly) Beck, Stacy Hall, Kelly Sue (Brian) Rapp, and sister-in-law Jan Doughty; aunt, Sharon Frase; grandchildren, Adri Fonseca, Madison Collier, Emma Collier, Ethan Collier; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents, Richard and Jeri Doughty; brother, Kerry Doughty; sister, Teresa Doughty; and niece, Sarah Rapp Ercole. Bill would always make you feel welcomed. Anyone who knew him was impressed by his kindness, humor, mild temperament, and big heart. Bill was a source of positivity who loved fiercely and deeply; many were recipients of his hugs. We take comfort in knowing Bill is now at peace. We will be honoring Bill at two places that were important to him: Nashville, IN and Muskegon, MI.
