William (Bill) Arthur Bourdo, age 79, of Muskegon, MI, left this world on January 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 20, 1946, to Omer and Margaret (Jesperson) Bourdo in Muskegon, where he would spend his life making lasting memories and leaving a profound impact on those around him.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Bill served as a Gunners Mate aboard the USS William V. Pratt (DLG-13), a testament to his dedication and courage. Upon returning from his service, he married the love of his life, Gail McGowen, on June 22, 1974. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and joy, welcoming their son Ryan into the world, who would grow to have the same work ethic and love for the outdoors as his father.

Bill's career as a Heavy Equipment Operator spanned over four decades, first with JC Construction and later at the Muskegon County Wastewater Treatment Facility, where his work ethic and commitment were well-respected by his colleagues. He cherished the friendships he formed along the way and his impact on the community will be remembered.

In his spare time, Bill loved to spend time with his family and friends. He had a huge passion for anything outdoors including: hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. He was also one of the largest Detroit Lions fans you could meet!

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Gail; his son, Ryan (Colette) Bourdo; his sister, Mary (Jerry) Fethke; his brother, Rich (Cindy) Bourdo; his brother-in-law, Clayton Miles; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barb Miles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mona Lake Boat Club on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4pm-7pm, allowing friends and family to gather and share cherished memories of this remarkable man. Final interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, where he will rest peacefully.
