William L. Bennett

Mr. William L. Bennett, age 93, passed away December 22, 2007 at Hackley Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice. He was born April 6, 1914 in Glen Arbor, MI, to the late Frank and Emma (LaVance) Bennett. Bill moved to Muskegon in 1922. As a writer, he authored Danger Trails North. He retired from WKBZ in 1979. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clair and Roland; and his sisters, Bessie, Dorothy (Conklin), and Minnie Wickland. Bill is survived by his niece, Emily Shepperson of Warren, MI; and his nephews, Gene Bennett of Dumfries, VA, Wendel Wickland of Williamsville, NY, Robert Bennett of CA, and Warren Wickland of Muskegon, MI. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hackley Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice.
