William H. Ashley

Mr. William Henry Ashley, age 73, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was born in Muskegon, MI on June 4, 1945 to Donald & Georgianna (Schroder) Ashley and married the former Candy Eisenlohr on March 29, 1968. Mr. Ashley had worked for Muskegon Bank and Trust, CWC, and Matson Oldsmobile-Cadillac before starting Ashley Leasing which he operated until retiring. Bill was a proud recipient of the Liberty Bell Award in 1983 and the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1995. He was a member of the Muskegon Rotary, Masons, Muskegon Elks, Marquette Fin & Feather, Muskegon Country Club, AMBUCS, and a Muskegon Public School Board member for over 20 years. Bill was involved with Junior Achievement and had been a Silent Observer Board Member. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 50 Years, Candy; children, William H. (Amanda) Ashley II of North Muskegon, Sarah (Brad) Hirdes of Spring Lake & John Paul (Villa) Ashley of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Charlotte, Madeline & Preston Ashley, Katie & Alex Hirdes; brothers, David (Marsha) Ashley, Tom (JoAnne) Ashley; sisters, Ann (Connell) Wittkopp & Susan (Al) Marr; sister-in-law, Linda Ashley; several nieces & nephews. SERVICE Friday, March 8, 2019, Noon with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Elsa Pressentin officiating. Internment in Elbridge Community Cemetery.
