FRANK, MR. WILLI W. Grand Haven, MI Mr. Willi W. Frank, 67, died Monday, May 27, 2002 on his boat. He was born on January 17, 1935 to Julius & Bertha Frank in Pomerania, Germany. He arrived in the United States in 1954 & married the former Helga Mueller on Dec. 21, 1957 in St. Joseph, MI. Mr. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1958-1959. After moving to Grand Haven, MI in 1966, Willi & Helga owned the Anchor Motel & later the Beacon Drive-In Restaurant. In 1972, with his partner, Werner Hanke, he began Gyro Designs, now known as Gyro Powdercoating, Inc. of Grand Haven, one of the first powdercoating industries in the state. Mr. Frank was an avid soccer fan, first as a player for the Grand Haven Soccer Club, then as a coach. He was also Treasurer of the W. Michigan Soccer League for several years. A fisherman in his spare time, Willi helped out several local captains with charter fishing, but he was happiest on his own boat fishing on Lake Michigan. SURVIVORS: Wife, Helga; 2 daughters Deb Brent Windemuller of Grand Haven & Sandra Randy Sawyer, both of Grand Haven, MI; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Kendra, Erin, Cameron, Katlin, Ethan; 2 sisters, Elisabeth Schults of St. Joseph, MI & Edith Kray of Germany; 6 nieces & nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the Clock Chapel - Grand Haven with Rev. Phillip Baerwolf officiating.
