Willetta "Willie" J. Workman, age 86, formerly of Muskegon, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. She was born October 8, 1921, in Muskegon to William and Etta (Hilarides) Ritcheske, and she married Simon "Bub" Workman, Jr. on March 7, 1942, in Bryan, Ohio. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1996. Mrs. Workman graduated from Muskegon High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Muskegon. She was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church for many years where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and served on the funeral luncheon committee. She was a former member and queen of the TOPS Club for many years and she also served on the auxiliary of Muskegon Christian School and Western Michigan Christian High School. She was also an election precinct worker for the city of Norton Shores. Willie enjoyed hiking, attending community concerts, and cooking and baking for her family. She especially loved spending time with her family. She is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Susan (Jim) Brow of Muskegon and Charlotte Workman of Glen Ellyn, IL; two sons, Si (Linda) Workman of Spring Lake and David (Lora) Workman of Muskegon; three grandchildren: Craig (Sara) Workman of Kentwood, Eric Workman of Spring Lake, and Jennifer Dunlap of Muskegon; four great-grandchildren: Emily, Elena, and Nicholas Workman and Chase Barnard; and a brother, Robert Ritcheske of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Christine Ritcheske, and a sister, Erma Ritcheske. The service for Willie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon with Pastor Lou Roossien presiding. Friends may meet the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will be in Norton Cemetery in Muskegon.
