Mr. Willard L. Hawley, age 96, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning at his residence, the Hume Home. Willard was born in Summit Twp, Mason County on April 2, 1912 to Guy W. and Rose D. (Horne) Hawley. He married the former Ruby E. Radtke in 1935 and moved to Muskegon in 1945. Ruby preceded him in death in 1962. He then married the former Maxine Dahl in April of 1963. Mr. Hawley was employed as a set-up man in the printing department of Sealed Power for 28 years until retiring in 1972. Tragically, after 39 years of marriage Maxine passed away in 2002. He then met and married the former Louise Kurdziel at the Hume Home in 2004. Willard was a devoted member of Temple United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir until the age of 90. Mr. Hawley is survived by: wife, Louise of the Hume Home; daughter, Janice D. (Harold) Garber of Mesa, AZ; two step-children, Sandra J. (Charles) Sikkenga and Don E. (Robyn) Dahl both of Grand Haven; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at: The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2008, Dr. Gerald J. Wahr officiating. Memorial Contribution to the Hume Home will be appreciated.
