Willard F. "Willie" Bishop

Mr. Willard F. "Willie" Bishop, age 86, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 22, 2008 in Muskegon. He was born November 10, 1921 to Jacob J. and Katherine (Broersema) Bishop in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Willard worked at Shaw-Walker for 36 years, retiring in 1981, and years ago worked on the Bishop Family Celery Flats. He was a longtime member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church where he had served as a deacon, and also belonged to the Men's Society. On March 31, 1948 he married Donna J. VanDuinen. SURVIVORS include his wife Donna; 1 brother, Charles (Darlene) Bishop of Muskegon; 1 sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Bishop of Muskegon; special family friend, Denise (Sean) Kittredge of N. Muskegon. Willard was preceded in death by his son James in 1992; brothers, Carl, John (Bud), and Andrew; sisters, Ruth Malda and Adeline DeWall. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday at the Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Robert Bierenga officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
