Wikander, Vera C.

Mrs. Vera C. Wikander, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Mrs. Wikander was born December 5, 1919, to Edward and Elizabeth (Bosley) Charon in Ludington and graduated from St. Simon High School before moving to the Muskegon area in 1938. She then graduated from the Muskegon Business College. On October 26, 1946 she married Frank Edwin Wikander in Ludington. Mrs. Wikander worked for Visiting Nurse Services before retiring from the Muskegon County Health Department. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Mrs. Wikander's SURVIVORS include her husband of 60 years, Eddie; son, F. Craig (Barbara) Wikander of North Muskegon; daughter, Laurie (Frank) Kern of Twin Lake; 5 grandchildren: Matthew (Erica) Wikander, Justin & Katherine Wikander, and Stephen & Michelle Kern; and 2 sisters, Geraldine Quintero of San Antonio, TX and Marjorie Hansen of Ludington. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Myrtle Charon and Florence Sullivan; and 1 brother, E.J. Charon. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 27, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Inurnment: Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Services or the Arthritis Foundation.
