Mr. Wesley D. Saxton, age 92, passed away at his home Monday, February 19, 2007 in the arms of his loved one's. He was born on July 21, 1914 to Norman & Mildred (Darling) Saxton in Holton and had been a life resident of the area. He was a 61 year member of Steamfitters' Local #154 and had been employed at Yonkers Plumbing and Port City Heating and Plumbing prior to his retirement. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman; but his greatest love was his family. On May 4, 1940, he married Edna Puckett and she preceded him in death on May 22, 1998. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Lloyd E. (Eleanor) Cochran of Holton; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Wesley (Janet) Cochran, Grace (Paul) Lynn, Debbie (Dan) Breejen, Lloyd C. (Cindy) Cochran, Joni (Dave) Ryan; 19 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Norma (Edward) Ranthum and 1 sister-in-law, Dorthy Saxton and by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Paul Cochran; his great-grandson, Lloyd C. Cochran, Jr.; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at Holton United Methodist Church (9530 Holton Duck Lake Rd.) with the Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating. VISITATION will be 6-8PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 MEMORIALS may be made to VNS Hospice or Holton United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
