Bertha I. Wesley, age 86, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at a local care facility. She was born May 15, 1920, to Joseph and Bertha (Turner) Charon in Boyne City, Michigan; and she married Frank E. Wesley on June 30, 1956, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2001. Mrs. Wesley moved to Grand Haven in 1943 from Lakeview, MI. She was employed as a clerk at Casemier Pharmacy for many years. Mrs. Wesley was a member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, and she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Survivors include a son, Marc Wesley of Grand Haven; a sister, Gertrude Koats of Grand Haven; and a brother, Walter Charon of Boyne City, MI. Mrs. Wesley was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Cole and Katherine Charon; a half-sister, Minnie Kutzke; and five brothers: Joseph, Merton, Milton, John and Carl Charon. The service for Mrs. Wesley will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Spring Lake with the Rev. Doug Bytwerk officiating. Friends may meet the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery.
