Mr. Max G. Way, Sr., age 75, died Sunday, December 10, 2006. He was born April 28, 1931 in Muskegon to Homer G. and Bessie M. (Lake) Way and had been a life resident. Mr. Way was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a cabinet maker for E.H. Sheldon from 1953-1976 and as a machinist for Grand Haven Spring from 1980-1993 before retiring. On January 30, 1954, he married the former Rose A. Ashcroft in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 sons, Max (Pam) Way, Jr. of Ravenna, Jeffery (Jennifer) Way of Fond du Lac, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy (Harmony) Way, Latishia (Russell) Center, Samantha Way, Melissa Way, Leah Way; 3 brothers, Merle "Jerry" Way, Bill (Flo) Way, Jack (Joyce) Way; sister, Pat (Jerry) Sherman; 2 sisters-in-law, Beverly Way and Margaret Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Way; his parents, Homer and Bess Way; sister, Audrey Way; 3 brothers, Homer G. Way, Jr., Herbert C. Way, Robert D. Way; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Way. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Rev. Burt Wachter officiating. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Thursday. MEMORIALS to the First Reformed Church of Ravenna Youth Group or Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
