Warren Reister

Mr. Reister, age 82, went to be with his Lord October 5, 2008. He was born February 18, 1926, in Grand Rapids, to Andrew and Emma (Wichert) Reister. He was married to the former Ruth Arvidson, who preceded him in death in 1981. On August 9, 1998, he married the former Mildred Beegle Barnhart. He plastered and tiled many of the homes in the White Lake area, was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church and was a member of White Lake Area Sportfishing Association, as well as being an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Reister served in the US Army in Europe during World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Glen, a daughter, Kathleen Cook, a grandson, Andrew Reister, 3 sisters and 7 brothers. FAMILY: His wife, Midge; 1 son, Daniel (Karen) Reister of Whitehall; 1 daughter, Sue Cornfield of Whitehall; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy (Monique) Reister, Polly (Doug) Schlaff and Jenny (Andrew) Buck; 4 great-grandchildren, Drew Schlaff, Grant Schlaff, Ben Schlaff and Annabelle Buck; 7 step-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren. SERVICE: Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 6 PM, at the Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church with the Rev. Thomas Beeghly officiating. Interment will be made in Oakhurst Cemetery - Whitehall.
