Wanda M. Sckorohod Profile Photo

Wanda Sckorohod, age 94, passed away Sunday February 5 at Sanctuary at the Shore in Grand Haven. She was born in Manhattan on what is now the site of the United Nations building. One of nine children, Wanda attended parochial schools while growing up in Brooklyn. On January 16, 1943, she married William Sckorohod in New York City, living mostly on Long Island before retiring to Florida and, eventually, to western Michigan. Wanda was employed as a bookkeeper and was a great cook, especially baked goods and various ethnic dishes. She was a quiet, considerate and loving lady with an illuminating smile. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Sanctuary at the Shore for their extraordinary attention and care over the last two years. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on November 20, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Dardi (Tom Austin) of Spring Lake and her grandson, Michael Dardi of Breckenridge, Colorodo. A private memorial service will be held later.
