Wanda Lynne Eckels

Wanda Eckels, age 63, of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Wanda was born January 11, 1958, to Fred and Phyllis (Camp) Frietchen in Grand Haven. She married Thomas Eckels on August 28, 1982; and together they raised their three children: Jennette, Rianna and Christopher. Wanda graduated from Spring Lake High School and worked as a Manufacturing Schedular at Dake for 37 years. She spent her leisure time walking her dogs, camping, feeding ducks, and spending time with her granddaughter. She also was a big supporter and volunteer of the Grand Haven Band & Orchestra programs. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Jennette (Eric) Anderson and Rianna Eckels; her son, Christopher (Alexandra) Eckels; her grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, Ethan, Leland, Hunter and Makenna; sisters: Kathy (Dennis) Rice, Gigi (Tony) Green, and Bonnie (Bryan) Swiftney, all of Grand Haven; Aunt Elsie Campbell; Aunt Willene Wiebenga; Aunt Deb Gustafson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 2015; son, Leland, in 1991, brother, Steve Frietchen, in 2021, and parents. There will be no memorial service at this time.
