JANSIEWICZ, MR. WALTER THOMAS Village of Fruitport, MI Mr. Walter Thomas Jansiewicz, age 87, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 9, 1916. Mr. Jansiewicz married the former Olga Shermeta on August 14, 1937 in Fruitport, MI. He had been employed in quality control at Kaydon for 30 years until retiring in 1980. Mr. Jansiewicz was a longtime devoted member of Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ. He was an avid writer, hunter, fisherman & enjoyed coaching youth baseball. Mr. Jansiewicz was a local correspondent for the Muskegon Chronicle & Fruitport Area News. He was a published writer, local historian & was a former Village Councilman. SURVIVORS 3 sons, Thomas W. Jansiewicz of Spring Lake, MI, Donald R. Mary Jansiewicz of MD & David L. Debra Jansiewicz of Fruitport, MI; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Anne Dean of IN; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga in 1990. SERVICE Monday, February 24, 2003, 2:00 PM at Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Donald Wood officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery.
