Wallace Cooper

Mr. Wallace J. Cooper, age 66, passed away August 26, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born September 12, 1940 in Muskegon to Wallace and Stella (Soful) Cooper. He resided in White Cloud until 1992 when he moved to Arizona. He then returned to Muskegon this past July. He married the former Roberta M. Hooper on August 19, 1989. Mr. Cooper was employed at Meijer Inc. for 20 years and then retired from Plumbs in 1989. He was a member of the Lakeside Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; 4 children, Wallace A. Cooper, Donna A. Cooper, Arnold D. Cooper and Brenda L. (Ronald) LaVasseur all of Muskegon; his step-children, Bruce (Sandy) Ferguson, Joan (Gary) Jolman, Karen (Randy) Smith, Cheryl Ferguson and Christy Hershey; 17 grandchildren; 2 brothers, David (Marcia) Cooper of Norton Shores and Ronald (Linda) Cooper) of Fruitport; 3 sisters, Charlene N. Drake, Pamela (Steve) Sowa and Kimberly (Nick) Chorny all of Fruitport. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace in 1947; his step-father, Charles Drake in 1996; and his mother, Stella M. Drake on January 27, 2006. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Thursday, August 30 at 11 A.M. at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 231-798-1100 With Pastor Eric Stratton officiating. The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
