Vivian L. Guzniczak passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 1, 2026, at the age of 96. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 3, 1929, to Harold & Mildred (Anderson) Hase. After graduating from Pulaski High School, she eventually met and married her loving husband, the late Harry "Jerry" Guzniczak on June 16, 1951, sharing 62 years of marriage.

Her career in education started when Vivan graduated from the Racine Grove Normal School in 1949. With her teaching credentials in hand, she started teaching in a one room school in Racine, WI. After her first son was born in 1961, Vivian decided to stay at home to raise her family. The next chapter of her professional life spanned 40 years volunteering her knowledge and leadership skills to several organizations including the Franklin Historical Society, Wisconsin Historical Society, St. Charles Boys Home, and the American Red Cross.

Vivian was an avid reader and book collector all her life. She enjoyed the outdoors and had an unwavering passion for birdwatching, often found with binoculars and a field guide in hand. Whether traveling to identify a rare species or simply enjoying the chatter of finches at the feeder, Vivian found immense joy in the birding world.

Vivian was a devoted mother to Michael (Eli) Guzniczak and Mark (Patti) Guzniczak, and a cherished grandmother to Lauren (Russell) Owens and Emily (Levi) Roberson. Her legacy extended to her great-grandchildren: Alexander, Madeline, Oliver, and Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry "Jerry" Guzniczak, sister Ilo Zimdars, and brother Harold "Skip" Hase, Jr. Vivan is further survived by her nieces, other relatives, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Franklin Wisconsin later this year with details from the family to follow. A private family graveside service will take place at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Old World Wisconsin Foundation https://oldworldfoundation.org/ or the Franklin Historical Society https://franklin-history.org/
