Virginia "Ginney" Williams, age 83, passed away Monday afternoon, June 16, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born September 29, 1924 in Mexico, the daughter of the late Jesus and Antionia (Vasquez) Gonzalez. She attended Orchard View Congregational Church in Muskegon, but was a current member of 12th Street Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Ginney enjoyed clog dancing, ceramics, and singing. On October 21, 1944, she was united in marriage to John L. Williams, who preceded her in death on August 23, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents and 4 brothers. Surviving are 4 children, John (Iva) Williams of Albuquerque, NM, James (Cheryl) Williams of Ludington, Laurie (Gary) Spencer of Kalamazoo, and Michele (John) Anthony of Grand Haven; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Joseph (Alta) Gonzalez of Muskegon, George Gonzalez of Muskegon, Robert (Helena) Gonzalez of Muskegon, and Raymond (Rita) Gonzalez of Florida; 1 sister, Gloria (Fred) Roberts of Muskegon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorial services for Ginney will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Orchard View Congregational Church, 2175 Marquette Ave., Muskegon. Private interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery, Muskegon. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo.
