Virginia Marian (Jaskus) McDonnell, age 87 of Twin Lake, passed away Sunday at her great granddaughters home in Twin Lake. Virginia was born on Jan. 19, 1921 in Cheboygan, MI to Peter and Lyda (Blank) Koviak and has been a resident of the Twin Lake area most of her life where she was a homemaker, member of the Holton Ladies Aid and read her Bible and prayed every day. She married Robert Jaskus on May 1, 1937 and Robert later died in an auto accident 5 months before his daughter Marian was born. Together Robert and Virginia had 3 children, Archie Alan who died at 1 month old and Lyle Edward and Marian Eileen. She later married Frank McDonnell on July 1, 1958 and they shared 27 happy years together until Frank passed away on January 10, 1985. SURVIVORS: her daughter, Marian Hanke (friend, Tom Pfeiffer of Twin Lake); grandchildren, Cindy (Joe) Cone; Sue Willcutt; Brian (Lisa) Burkett; 10 great grandchildren, Dawn (Brandon) Henderson; Teri (Shannon) Barker; Sherrie (Garry) Pierce; David Tozer; Dirk (Dana) Burkett; Carly (Joe) Casano; Shelly Burkett; Alishia Burkett; Brandon Burkett; Stacey Burkett; 9 great great grandchildren, Austin & Alex Barker; Kennedy, Hunter, Shelbie Porter; Rylee Pierce; Kyle Henderson; Aili Casano; Molly Burkett; her stepchildren and their families, Harvey (Jean) McDonnell of New York; Beulah (Ben) Grantham of Newaygo; Sara (Charles) Jackson of Manistee; Mike (Karen) McDonnell of Frankfort; Monte (Dixie) McDonnell of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law, Helen Koviak; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her sons, Archie and Lyle Jaskus; her grandson, Donald Burkett Jr.; brothers, Gordon, Leslie & Albert Koviak; sister, Edith Davis; sister-in-law, Delores Koviak; brother-in-law, Frank Davis; son-in-law, Clifford Hanke. VISITATION: Wednesday 11-1 at Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES: Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home. INTERMENT: Oakhill/East Dalton Cemetery in Twin Lake.
