Violet Topping-Olds

Mrs. Violet A. (Shelkey-Topping) Olds, born September 22, 1923 to the late Rudolph and Anna Eichorst of Muskegon, MI, went to be with our Heavenly Father, February 6, 2011 in Fort Myers, FL. Violet was under the care of Hope Hospice and her ever present daughter-in-law Linda Shelkey. Violet was preceded in death by her first husband, William Shelkey in 1960. Violet and William had three children; Judith (James) LaPlante, Christine (Russell) Gilbert of Hudsonville, MI, and Scott (Linda) Shelkey of Ft. Myers Beach, FL. In 1966 Violet married Donald Topping who had three sons. Donald and his eldest son, Marc, preceded Violet in death. Both Ronald (Diane) and Richard (Cindy) still reside in Muskegon. In 1982 Violet met and married Robert Olds who preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by three sisters Helen Sayars, Evelyn Urban and Gladys Martin, all of Muskegon. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as, many friends both in Florida and Michigan. Anyone knowing Violet will miss her delightful personality, generosity, strength and courage to go on and still love and forgive unconditionally. Her optimism and grace throughout her entire life are the examples that her entire family and friends should strive to follow. Per Violets request no funeral or memorial services are planned. She will be inurned at Sunrise Memorial Gardens beside those loved ones already waiting for her in Heaven. "Thanks be to God"
