Vicki Ann (Rose) Babcock, age 68. Loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Great-Aunt, Cousin and Friend passed away on January 26, 2025 under the care of Hospice in Grand Haven, MI surrounded by family and friends. Vicki had a lifelong struggle with health issues and following a fall that resulted in hospitalization she succumbed to complications from pneumonia, sepsis and resulting organ failure.
Vicki was born in Tawas City, MI to Emil "Frank"lin, and Betty Jean (Erickson) Rose on May 24, 1956. She was the oldest of 6 children Frank, Jody, Jeff, Mary and Bettina. Vicki spent the majority of her youth in Zilwaukee, MI where she graduated from Arthur Hill High-school. Vicki met Scott Babcock of Shields, MI in 1975, and she was proposed to on April fools day 1976 in the Hospital. They married June 26, 1976. Scott's employment with the US Army Corps of Engineers, moved them to Grand Haven, MI where the newly married couple began their lives. Together they had two children, Travis her son was born in 1977 and 16 months later her daughter Kisa was born in 1978. Vicki received her Associates degree from Baker college and worked in the medical transcription field for the majority of her employment being at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Vicki and Scott lived in the city of Grand Haven until the winter of 1984-1985 where they built a new home in Robinson Township. Later in life, having always had a love of the lakeshore, they moved to a house in the dunes in Sring Lake Township, MI where they had been spending their retirement. Vicki loved the lord and her faith was strong. Their children were brought up in the St. Anthony's Catholic church in Robinson Township. They later attended St. Mary's/ St. Patrick's Catholic churches when able.
Vicki enjoyed shopping in stores and online. Whether a thrift, craft or home good store, she always had a great idea for the perfect find. Vicki had a love for cards and playing board games with family and friends. Vicki loved reading and staying up late watching movies with Scott in their retirement. Vicki enjoyed cooking and baking, a trait she passed along to her family - her white chicken enchiladas, Christmas cookies, and éclair cakes will always be cherished. Vicki enjoyed traveling and was always up for an adventure as long as her health was in good standing. Vicki loved the beach, hearing the waves, running her hands through the sand and feeling the breeze on her face. Vicki loved her family most of all - spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Vicki was preceed in death by her father Emil "Frank" Rose, Sister Mary Rose and Niece Katie Rose, as well as her inlaws Don and Lena Babcock, brother in law Dane Babcock, as well as her Grandparents, and several Aunts and Uncles.
Vicki leaves behind her loving husband Scott Babcock of 48 years, Son & daughter in law Travis and Margaret (McCliment) Babcock, Daughter & son in law Kisa and Philip Weesies, and six grand children oldest to youngest, Jillaena Weesies, Garrison Babcock, Keyan Weesies, Myra Babcock, Lochlan Weesies, Muirek Weesies.
Vicki is survived by her mother Betty Jean Rose, her Brother & Sister in law Frank & Judy Rose, Nephew- Greg Rose (Greats-Gregory, Scarlett & Grant)

Vicki also leaves behind childhood friends and her lifelong friends they gained when they moved to this area
Vicki has been cremated and will be interned one day with her husband Scott in Lake Forest cemetery upon his passing. A celebration of life is planned for August 9th, 2025 at North Shore Beach Park. Details to be posted on Facebook, Instagram and through personal phone/ text to friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Vicki's remembrance to Travis Babcock (cash, check or venmo) for a bench to be erected at North Park Beach in Vicki's memoy.
