Vernon A. "Beaver" Johnston

Mr. Vernon A. "Beaver" Johnston, age 90, of Norton Shores, died November 10, 2007 at his son's home. He was born August 12, 1917 in Casnovia, Michigan to the late Orley and Virginia (Christianson) Johnston. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII. He loved traveling on his motorcycle and snowmobiles with his bosom buddy brother, Orrin "O.J" , and many friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, June; brothers, Orrin "O.J." Johnston and Frank Johnston; and sister, Jeanette. Surviving are his son, Lynn and wife, Norma, Johnston; daughter, Colleen and husband, Patrick, Carman; grandchildren: Rachelle & Scott, Alyssa & Eric, Christopher great grandchildren: Sierra, Izabela, Avery, and Addison; sister, Helene Bourdo; brothers, Erwin Johnston and Owen Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was a very beloved uncle. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services will be held.
