Vernette Arlene Tyson, passed away on June 7, 2026, in Branson, Missouri, at the age of 86. She was born on September 16, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and love for those around her.
Vernette graduated from high school in Ravenna, Michigan, and later attended junior college and business school. She was a woman who devoted herself to her family and appreciated the blessings of everyday life. She embraced her role as a homemaker and cared deeply for her family, creating a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and steadfast support. In 2000, she moved from Muskegon to Branson, where she made her home.
Vernette found joy in the things that reflected her faith and her family-centered life. She loved fishing, spending time with her family, being with her church family, and reading the scriptures. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she lived in a way that reflected trust in God, kindness toward others, and a quiet strength that inspired those around her. She was a member of Faith & Wisdom Church in Branson, where she valued fellowship, worship, and the shared encouragement of her church community. She had a gracious spirit and a caring heart, and she touched the lives of many through her words, her example, and her steady devotion to the people she loved.
Vernette will be deeply missed by her family: her husband of nearly 52 years, Ramone Tyson of Branson; her son, David Jackson of Springfield, MO; her daughters, Kelly Bennett and husband Kevin, and Vanessa White and husband Michael, all of Muskegon; her brothers, Kevin Johnson and Alvin Johnson; and her sisters, Shirley Johnson, Marilyn Sanchez, Evelyn, and Ella Johnson. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her great joy and whose lives were blessed by her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit.
Vernette was preceded in death by two beloved children, Paul Jackson and Cheryl Jackson, and her mother, Marion Johnson whose memories remained close to her heart.
