Vern Krupp

Mr. LaVerne P. "Vern" Krupp, age 78, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at his home. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 15, 1931 to Paul & Cleo (Crisple) Krupp and served his country in the US Army. He married the former Doris McNitt on November 17, 1953. Vern was an avid baseball player and pony league coach. He was a proud fan of the Muskegon Big Reds and Michigan State Spartans and staffed the MHS press box for 16 years. In his early years he worked with his father and uncles at Community Market on Apple Avenue. He attended Muskegon High School (class of 1949), Muskegon Community College and received his BA from Michigan State University in Business Administration. Mr. Krupp had been employed as an Office Manager at McCarthy-Cooper Ins. for 40 years until retiring. He was a member of the Old Newsboys, Lakeside Veterans, Vikings Linne Lodge, American Legion Post 28 and the Leather Helmet Club. He was longtime member of Westwood Reformed Church. He will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 56 years, Doris; daughters, Lisa (Fred) Wilmeth of Traverse City, Lori Sundby Krupp of Muskegon; sons, Kevin (Kathy) Krupp of Middleville, David (Marianne) Krupp of CO, Todd Krupp of VA; grandchildren, Lauren Laman, Leah, Elizabeth & Joshua Sundby, Paul & Jessica Krupp, Ashley & Hunter Krupp; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Ellouise (Dale) Boven, Charlene (Tim) Kruse & uncle, Vincent Krupp. He was preceded in death by his parents, & daughter-in-law, Constance O'Toole Krupp. SERVICE Friday, November 13, 2009, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Scott VanArendonk officiating. VISITATION Friday, 1 hour prior to the service at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Charity of your choice.
