Vera Mae Vanhassel-Friend

Vera Mae VanHassel-Friend age 98, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at DeBoer Nursing Home in Muskegon. Vera was born February 10, 1909 in Ravenna, Michigan to the late Clarence and Ora (Anderson) Maycroft. She married William Bob VanHassel After his death she married Russell Friend and he also preceded her in death. Vera is survived by 1 Son: Roland "Ron" and Janice VanHassel of Muskegon. 2 Grandchildren: Tammy and David Smatlak of Ravenna and Regina and Rob Lamanna of New York. 6 Great Grandchildren: Adam Knoll, Ashley, Hannah and Kayla Schultz, Joseph David Smatlak and Jackson William Lamanna. 2 Sisters: Marjorie Wilde of Muskegon and Avis and Jim Muldready of Ravenna. Vera was preceded in addition to her parents and husbands William and Russell by 4 Brothers: Pearl, Lauren, Bill and Dan Maycroft. 3 Sisters: Dorothy Lunborg, Phyllis Hoffman and Emma Conran. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00am at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna with Pastor Mary Ivanov officiating. Burial will be at Ravenna Township Cemetery. The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Monday, November 19, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends. Memorials may be directed to the Ravenna United Methodist Church in Ravenna.
