Vera Marie Bray, age 103, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023. She was born in Hart, MI on March 28, 1920 to Antone & Ruby (Rosner) Van Bavel and was one of 14 children. She later married Richard L. Bray and he preceded her in death. Along with Son's Raymond L. Reed and Kenneth R. Reed. daughter in-law Marlene L.Reed (Slocum)A granddaughter Joyce L. Reed, Ex husband Roger N. Reed, her Brother's Orland, Richard, Elwin, Neil and sister's Pearl, Frances, Gladice, Angie, Nettie,Velma, Winnie, Patty, Emmie and now Vera. (Her words)" I out lived my brother's and sister's."

Vera had worked as a housekeeper and also at the Haven Laundry in Grand Haven. She liked to do puzzles and puzzle books. Vera enjoyed going for walks, sewing, needlepoint and painting window figurines that let light threw the paint. Picking wild black berries. She was an avid garage sale shopper. She loved collecting nick nacks. But most of all loved all her family,friends,long life friends like her Old neighbor's that lived in the neighborhood back in the day. She loved to reminisce about her son Kenny, back in the day. And talk about how much things had changed from her days as a child to the present.

Granddaughter Donna M. (Bruce) LaMay of White Cloud, formally of Grand Haven great-granddaughter Kendra S. Reed-LaMay, great great-grandson Gabriel C. LaMay, great great-granddaughter, Felicity M. LaMay-Bergman, two step great-grandchildren Renata S. LaMay, Flaime C-K LaMay and step great-great-grand children Kheagon Allwelt, Presleigh Galbreath, Trinity Thompson, Desmond Thompson also many nieces and nephews on the VanBavel side.
