Tyler Booths greatest treasure was his family. He was a romantic husband and an incredible father. The mere mention of his family would put a smile on his lips. He lived each day to the fullest, and he was thankful for the many blessings in his life. In Muskegon, Michigan, Frank Booth and his wife Phyllis Race eagerly awaited the birth of their child. On June 13, 1974 they were blessed with the healthy birth of their son Tyler Frank Booth. Tyler grew up in Muskegon with his siblings Lori (1962), Denise (1969), John (1972), and Ellen (1990). He was an adorable and lovable child. He loved to cuddle. He had a knack for mischief. He would wander off and get himself into trouble. While playing outside, he would have to be tied to a clothesline. However, Tyler still managed to evade his mothers watchful eye. He even escaped from his sisters when they were babysitting him. Tyler loved the outdoors. He loved animals, especially his dog Juno. He enjoyed chasing after his siblings and playing with his cousins. He raised rabbits for 4H, a hobby that he shared with his brother John and his sister Denise. Tyler attended Holton High School. Among his classmates he earned a reputation for his rambunctious ways. He was something of a daredevil. He and John rebuilt BMX bikes out of scrap parts. Tyler was excellent with motors, and he was able to put together very powerful bikes. He loved riding and jumpingbut unfortunately the riding and jumping did not love him back. Tyler frequently got into accidents, which ultimately inspired his parents to give his motor bike away. Without his motor bike, Tyler focused on other recreations. He was a lifeguard at the YMCA, and he played the trumpet in the Holton Marching Band. One Memorial Day he played Taps at the Holton Cemetery. Following high school, Tyler moved into his own apartment on West Forest Street. He became friendly with his fellow tenants, especially the woman who lived in the unit below him. Her name was Danielle Marie Ashburn. The moment that he saw her, he knew that they were destined to spend their lives together. He even said to his friends, I am going to marry her. A short time later, these words came true: Tyler and Danielle were married on January 5, 1996. Tyler was blessed with three wonderful sons. Brandon was born in 1994, followed by James in 1995 and Seth in 2001. Tyler was a loving husband and terrific father. He was a stay at home dad who enjoyed taking care of his children. He had a learning disability which made it hard for him to read but he never gave up on improving his skills. He was an inspiration to those around him because of it. With the help of his wife he never gave up on becoming a better reader. In spite of this challenge, he was excellent with computers, he was working on earning his GED and dreamed of becoming a computer technician. When it was time for a vacation, Tyler would take the entire family camping. Many of his favorite memories involved fishing, boating, and roasting marshmallows with his sons. Tyler always knew how to have fun at home too. He enjoyed bonfires in the backyard, flying kites on the beach, and turning the swimming pool into a whirlpool with the help of his three sons. He and the kids enjoyed dirt-biking, riding go-carts, wrestling in the living room, building snowmen, shooting guns, body-building and watching sports on television, especially karate, kickboxing, boxing, and skateboarding. He shared his excitement for life with his sons, and he taught them to live to the fullest each and every day. For his family, Tyler was an icon of strength and dependability. Day or night, the family could count on Tyler. He did a great deal to help his sister through a difficult time in her life. He was planning a trip with his son James to drive his 14 year old niece to New York to help his other sister work on her house. One of Tylers most notable achievements turned out to be the biggest blessing. He struggled with drug addiction and was in recovery for four years. Following his personal success, he led many recovery groups at Kainay Community Church. People loved and cared about him. People also learned from him and his past experiences. Tyler greeted each day with a sense of adventure, and he was the happiest in the loving company of his wife and children. Tyler was a deeply caring man who thought of others before himself. He overcame many challenging obstacles, and his example continues to inspire his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and frequently remembered. Tyler went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Danielle; 3 sons, Brandon Lee Slater, James Tyler Booth & Seth Raymond Booth; parents, Frank & Phyllis Booth; mother-in-law, Patricia Ashburn; sisters, Loriene (Daria Pascale) Sheffer of Brewster, NY, Denise (Jonathon) Rameau of Fruitport, Ellen Booth; brother, John (Rebecca) Booth of Aberdeen, SD; 2 sisters-in-law, Corrina (Phil) Santos and Christina Ashburn (Angel).
