Thornton Stone

Mr. Thornton "TJ" Stone, age 80, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Muskegon, MI. He was born September 5, 1926 in Muskegon, MI. He married the former Barbara Mattrick of 53 years on June 10, 1954 in Ann Arbor, MI. Mr. Stone served in the U.S. Army. He became principal at Bunker School, and then taught at Muskegon High School and Baker College until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Stone was in the Muskegon Breakfast Optimist Club and past President also the Muskegon Elks. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; 4 children, Tom (Karen) Stone of Boyne City, MI, Tamara (Greg) Ricco of N. Muskegon, MI, Tim (Kelly) Stone of N. Muskegon, MI, and Todd (Carla) Stone of Boyne City, MI; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday 10:00 A. M. at the Young Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest J. Bernott officiating. Burial Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION: Wednesday 6-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. MEMORIAL: Mona Shores Optimist Club. Envelopes will be available.
