Thomas J. Smith

Mr. Thomas J. Smith, age 68, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 9, 1948 to Roy & Dorothy (Berg) Smith and served his country in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He married the former Katherine Hamil on August 18, 1978. Mr. Smith had been employed for Fruitport Public Schools for years until retiring. Thomas was a member of VFW Don Rea Post #8846. SURVIVORS Wife of 38 years, Katherine; mother, Dorothy Smith; sisters, Barbara Johnson, Linda (Terry) Brandt, Peggy Smith; brothers, Jim Smith, Carl (Sharon) Smith; in-laws, Jim & Janet Hamil; sister-in-law, Diane (Nick) Dakins; brother-in-law, Jim (Ann) Hamil; several nieces & nephews.
