Thomas A. McKenzie, age 65, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, December 3, 2007, from a rare form of Leukemia. He was born January 14, 1942, in Detroit, MI, to Edmond and Madeline (Nixon) McKenzie. He married the former Maxine Charlotte Hadley on May 10, 1969, at First Presbyterian Church in Dearborn, MI. She survives him along with two daughters, Noelle (Dr. Prat) Itharat of Nashville, TN, and Bonnie McKenzie of Fruitport; two sons, Matthew McKenzie and Graham McKenzie, both of Spring Lake; Anne Itharat, grandchild expected to arrive in January of 2008; special family member Gregory Struss of Chicago, IL; and a brother, Michael McKenzie of Troy, MI. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. McKenzie earned a Master's Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has resided in the Tri-Cities area for the past 37 years and was employed as a mechanical engineer. Tom was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Muskegon. A formal memorial service honoring Tom's life will be held in the spring at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Muskegon. Memorial contributions in Tom's name may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Restoration Fund or the Harbor Humane Society.
