George, Mr. Thomas Dale Muskegon, Michigan Mr. Tom George, 84, passed away at peace on Saturday, February 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family . He was born in Muskegon, MI on August 1, 1935 to Benjamin & Ellen (Nielsen) George. He married the former Julia Bailey on July 6, 1956. Together they raised four beautiful children Tom graduated from Michigan State University in 1960, with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and remained a devoted fan of the Spartans. Tom was co-owner of a Machine Design and Build Shop., Active Engineering, Inc. He enjoyed working with his trusted friend and co-owner, Ron Wilke, for many fruitful years after they both retired from Muskegon Piston Ring. Tom was raised in Central Lutheran Church and more recently began to attend the Free Methodist Church, grateful for the kind support of Pastor Carlos Ramos, Tom was a member of the Mona Lake Boat Club. Tom built his first boat when he was 14 and he loved being on the water. He was a master water skier and taught many to enjoy this sport. He finally found time to build his last boat which he dreamed up and designed in later years. It took him two years to complete . He also loved hunting and fishing. He was a trusted friend to many and was always willing to give advice and step in lend a hand when help was needed.. SURVIVORS His devoted wife, Julie; his beloved children, LaRaine (Terry) Kiel, Kathryn (Jeff) Harris, Melissa (Chris Huber) Wallstead and son, Ben George. He loved his grandchildren, TJ , (Jessica Felker) Stariha , Daniel Wallstead, Mandy Wallstead, Natalie Treat, Hillary (Brian) Roberson, and Ryan George, Jessica Parmalee, Jennifer (Doug) Harris and Jacob and Nick Kiel and Jennifer Kiel Borusko and 18 great- grandchildren, He is also survived by his; brother, Alfred (Rosalie) George. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Ellen George; grandson, Jonathan Stariha; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Shirley George, and sister, Kathryn George Hall, and James Wallstead SERVICE Saturday, March 14, 2020, 1:00 PM with visitation one hour pror to the service at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Carlos Ramos officiating.
