Mr. Thomas Crotty, Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born in Muskegon on February 12, 1929 to Thomas Glen and Dolores (McMahon) Crotty, Sr. and had been a life resident of the area. Mr. Crotty was a Veteran of the United States Army. He had been employed by Fisher Steel and Supply as a crane operator for many years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Crotty was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. On April 1, 1949, Thomas married his wife of 59 years, the former Maxine Edson, and she survives him along with 2 children, Jacqueline L. Venne and Vincent A. Crotty; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Crotty; 6 grandchildren, Karlyn Crotty, Amber Crotty, Thomas Crotty, Jaime (Ruben) Cortez, Jody (David) Breen, and James (Stephanie) Wesley; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Thomas Crotty III; 1 daughter, Susan Crotty; his parents; and his brother, William Crotty. SERVICES will be held 11AM Monday at First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Mike Borgert officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at church. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in Mr. Crotty's name may be made to Hackley VNS Hospice.
