Mrs. Theressa M. Parker, age 88, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2008. She was born November 12, 1919 in Muskegon to David and Verina (Vanderboegh) Richards and had been a life resident. Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Muskegon High School. She was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Church Treasurer, and served in the music ministry. She also volunteered for Hackley Hospital for several years. Mrs. Parker had a very positive impact and special relationship with her grandchildren. On March 13, 1938, she married Roy V. Parker in Reed City, MI, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1991. SURVIVORS include 6 children, James (Diane) Parker of Fruitport, Linda Ruszala of Dalton Twp., Gerald (Jeanette) Parker of Fruitport, Timothy "T.J." (Terri) Parker of Norton Shores, Phillip (Diana) Parker of Kalamazoo, and Paul (Vicky) Parker of Fruitport; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons; 4 brothers, Warren Richards of Florida, and Clyde Richards, William (Barb) Richards, and Marvin (Betty) Richards, all of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and a very close friend, Murel Brown. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Parker; great-grandson, Anthony Parker; sister, Lucille Bray; and 3 brothers, Arnie, Lee David "L.D.," and Gene Richards. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon (1066 Byron) with Pastor Scott Church and Pastor Doug VanderMolen officiating. Inurnment will take place in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIALS to the Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon Missions Program will be appreciated.
