Caveney, Therese "Terry" Lynn South Haven, Michigan All who knew Therese "Terry" Caveney would agree that she brought the world around her to life. Her sparkling and vibrant personality, combined with her zest for life was contagious to all who were near. Terry was deeply devoted to her family. Although she had so many amazing experiences, it was sharing them with the ones she loved that made those moments extraordinary. While life will never be the same without Terry here on earth, she leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that her loved ones will forever hold in their hearts. It seems only fitting that Terry's journey began during a time that was as vibrant as she was. It was the 1950s when James Dean and Marilyn Monroe were big names on the big screen while Elvis Presley took the music world by storm with his rock 'n roll music. There was also much to celebrate as the decade came to a close as we became a nation of 50 states with the additions of both Alaska and Hawaii. It was as the beauty of spring began to unfold in the Rolling Meadows, Illinois, in April of 1959 that Roberta "Bert" and William "Bill" MacShane, were eagerly awaiting the birth of their new baby. Their wait was finally over on April 6th when the baby girl they named Therese Lynn drew her first breath. Raised in Rolling Meadows, a suburb of Chicago, Terry was a typical young girl of her generation. She was the fourth of six children as she was joined in her family by her older siblings, Susan, Dennis, and Billy, and her younger siblings, Mary Kay and Chris. Terry's father worked as a tool and die maker while her mother focused her time and attention at home. As a family they enjoyed camping, Road America racing in Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Dells. With her outgoing and fun-loving personality, Terry had numerous friends. Many of these friendships lasted her entire life. She attended local schools and graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in 1977. As a young woman Terry was eager for all that life had in store. In early adulthood she married twice, to Jim Baudin and Jim Guerino. From these marriages came her three sons, Patrick Baudin, Shawn Guerino, and Vince Guerino. Like anything else Terry does, she fully devoted herself to caring for her sons; she raised three boys to be wonderful young men. They were the light of her life and she loved then deeply. One of Terry's gifts was her engaging personality. As a result she became very successful in sales. Her professional journey consisted of various sales roles with different companies. These experiences lead her to the Panduit Corporation, a company that made many products for electrical and computer networks. This proved to be quite a fateful move as it was there that she met her future husband, Jack, who was the owner and CEO. In time and after life-altering events, their paths crossed and life was forever changed. They got to know one another, and they eventually began dating. With such an effervescent personality and infectious smile, it didn't take Jack long to find that he was truly smitten with Terry. Their connection was impossible to deny, and the rest is history as they say. With a desire to spend the rest of their lives together Terry and Jack were married in September of 2008. Throughout her life Terry was always on the go, and it has been said that she loved to have fun. She loved to golf and bowl among things with friends. With a love for fashion, Terry was the one who made sure their South Haven girls bowling group had appropriate team shirts! She loved wake boarding and snowboarding. Rumor has it that she liked snowboarding because it was all about the cool attire. She was a hippie at heart when it came to music. She enjoyed a wide variety of genres; however, Neil Young was a favorite artist. His song "Harvest Moon" touched her soul in such a special way. Terry enjoyed decorating and rehabbing houses. She had her own special flair that made for amazing functionality, style, and flow. Every house she decorated had a warm and happy vibe where people immediately felt welcome. Terry and Jack wintered in Naples, Florida, where they were in the process of building their home when she became ill. She loved to cooking and, entertain. Hosting a meal with family and friends was something she and Jack did regularly. One of Terry's favorite activities was baking her famous bread. She passed her secret recipe on to many of her friends. In 2015, Terry and Jack retired to South Haven where she continued to keep active. She loved the community there and was very active in it, and it was the perfect place for her as she loved sunsets and water. Animals were important to Terry, especially her dogs Lucky, Harley, and Ozzie. She was known for generously donating to the local animal shelter, Al-Van, and even became known as someone who could find a fur-ever home for a pet in need when someone wasn't even looking for a new family member! Needless to say, Terry's friends had a hard time saying no to her. There were so many things to love about Terry. She was happy, helpful, and fun. Terry had a special way of connecting with everyone. Terry was genuine in her care and concern for others as well as the issues she felt passionately about. Terry's husband, Jack, described her as a shining star and even his north star as well as someone who was forever moving forward. She had the ability to remain positive in whatever came her way including when she was engaged in the fight for her life. Terry faced her medical diagnosis of myelofibrosis, with optimism and great hope in coming out on the other side of the disease. Her strength, courage, and unwavering faith were truly inspiring to all who were around her. Although she was taken from her loved ones too soon, Therese "Terry" Caveney made a significant impact on the hearts of so many. She was passionate and hardworking with a fun-loving free spirit that drew others near with ease. There was no greater gift in Terry's life than her family. She was happiest when surrounded by their love. Terry died on November 29, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic. While she will be deeply missed, she leaves behind a timeless indelible legacy.
