Thelma Phelps

Mrs. Thelma J. Phelps, age 88, went to her Lord in Heaven early Sunday morning, June 3, 2007. She was born May 13, 1919 in Muskegon Hts. to Arlie and Bertha (Newburn) French. She married George Lillibridge on January 4, 1939, who preceded her in death in 1975. She later married William J. Phelps in Muskegon on February 14, 1981 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1992. Together they owned Bill's Garage in Norton Shores. Thelma was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and loved hunting and fishing. She is survived by 1 daughter, Thelma June (Terry) Cowles of North Muskegon; 2 brothers, Arlington French and Jay (Wanona) French; 2 sisters, Arlene Hiar and Joan French; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and step-children, Bill and Max Phelps and Mary Combs. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Friday, 1:30 p.m,. at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Don Letson officiating. INTERMENT: Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION: Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the Lee Funeral Home.
