RICE, MR. TED H. Norton Shores, MI Mr. Ted H. Rice, age 79, died Friday, September 27, 2002. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 4, 1923 to Truman & Marie Flory Rice & married the former Betty ''Polly'' Mudge on November 2, 1991. Mr. Rice had been employed as a bartender at various establishments. He was a member of the Berean Church, the VFW Post #446, & the American Legion #356 in Grand Rapids. SURVIVORS Wife, Betty ''Polly'' Rice of Norton Shores, MI; daughter, Constance Hughes & special friend Jim Reynolds of Brohman, MI; stepson, David Ryder of Muskegon Heights, MI; 2 stepdaughters, JoAnn Steven Roberson of Poway, CA & Julia Ondra Morris of Muskegon Heights, MI; grandson, Brian Hughes; 4 stepgrandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah ''Kitty'' Simmons & by his brother, Truman, who was killed in WWII & buried in Normandy. SERVICE Tuesday, October 1, 2002, 11:00 AM at the Berean Church with Rev. Dwight Reed officiating with a Veteran's committal under the auspices of VFW Post #446 honoring Mr. Rice's service as a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II in the South Pacific.
