Sylvia J. Doremus

Sylvia June Doremus, age 90, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Fort Wayne Indiana. She was born in Highmore, South Dakota on September 26, 1925 to Eli & Hattie (Tasche) Layton. Sylvia had been employed as the 1st Woman Food Director at the Muskegon Correctional Facility until retiring in 1989. Sylvia was a member of Unity United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS Children: Lon (Jan) Doremus, Ranee (Larry) Gittus, Jerry (Linda) Doremus, Randy (Brenda) Doremus, Marvin (Cathy) Doremus. Grandchildren: Mike, Michelle, Tom, Scott, Chad, Kelly, Eric, Chris, Dena, Keith, Julie. Great grandchildren: Alex, Jena, Kendall, Max, Hayden, Katie, Spencer, Brenna, Keith, Sterling, Dylan, Cole, Payten, Aaliyah, Anthony, Nathan, Maddie, Cynthia, Derrick, Jada. Great Great Grandchild: Andrew. Best Friend: Peg Engweiler. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICE Saturday, October 15, 2016, 11:00 am at Unity United Methodist Church. Interment was at Laketon Township Cemetery.
