Susan Francis (Phillips) Harrison

March 21, 1941-September 22, 2023

Susan Harrison, age 82, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Heartwood Lodge. She

was born on March 21, 1941 in Chicago, IL, the eldest of three children and good company to

all who knew her. The mother of two devoted children, beloved grandmother of four, and friend

to many more, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, John Harrison and her son,

Timothy Heyer.

Devoted to her Catholic faith, Sue's bright eyes always reflected God's light, and her unfailing

humor and positive outlook on life were a testament to the deep faith that was the source of her

joy. Susan loved and was loved by many for her charismatic nature and ability to brighten

everyone's day with her radiant smile and contagious laughter.

Susan is fondly remembered for her in-home daycare center where she provided a home away

from home full of love and cheerful affection for the children of many area families. She was

employed at Donnelly Corporation for many years before retiring. Susan was an active member

of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and formerly a member of the

Grand Haven Newcomers Club where she met many of her lifelong friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Kelly (Eric) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kimberly

Heyer; her beloved grandchildren; Ian, Cameron, Delaney, and Riley; her nieces and nephews,

and a host of cherished friends.

The Funeral Mass for Susan will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Spring Lake, MI.
