Susan K. Buckley, 69, of Muskegon, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Born on July 12, 1956, in Muskegon, she was the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Paggeot) Bulson. Susan graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1974 and later took classes at Baker College. She had been employed for many years as a buyer at Michigan Spring, making sure the team had what they needed to make many kinds of springs. Her coworkers and friends knew her as a warm, social person who loved people and loved to talk.

Susan faced ALS for five years with courage and determination. She kept her voice and her spirit as long as she could, using eye-gaze technology to text, get on Facebook, and stay connected. Even through challenges, she stayed engaged with the world and with those she loved.

She had a gift for friendship. Growing up around Holbrook Ave and Marsh Field, she formed a close circle of girlfriends who remained dear to her throughout life. About twenty-five years ago, she took the lead in getting everyone back together, and they met several times a year for long visits and dinners. Susan and her husband Eric enjoyed going up north, visiting Mackinac Island, and trips to Niagara Falls and New York. She loved dinners out, girls' nights, and time spent with her family.

Susan is survived by her husband, Eric Buckley; her children, Jamee (William) Slenderbroek and Lars Bulson; grandchildren, Alexis and partner Jaquez Bradley , Ashley, and Justin; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Kathy Fox and Barb (Terry) Fox; her brothers, Greg (Gina) Bulson and Tim Bulson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with her wishes, a small private gathering for close family and friends will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. If lieu of flowers, please donate to The ALS Association at https://www.als.org
