Summer Rowell-White

Our dearly beloved Summer Lavenn Rowell-White, age 26, departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2007, at 8:30 pm. from Mercy General Hospital in Muskegon Heights, MI. She was born in Muskegon November 19, 1980 the daughter of Wali Ahmad and Gwendebra Rowell-Cage. Summer received her formal education from Muskegon Public School system where she graduated June, 1999. Summer participated in numerous sports: basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and ran track. She received numerous awards and recognition in outstanding participation at her area high school. She went on to pursue her academic educational goals at Baker College and Muskegon Community College. She recently pursued self employment by opening CSN Tax Service of Muskegon Heights, MI. Summer leaves to cherish her precious memory, her husband, William (Bill) White of Detroit, MI; her loving mother, Gwendebra Lee Rowell-Cage of Muskegon Heights, MI; her loving father, Harvey Lewis Cage of Grand Rapids, MI; her daughter, Sha'Niya LaShay Brown of Muskegon Heights, MI; her step-daughter, Asiashna White of Detroit, MI; her step-sons, William Jr. and Deante' White of Detroit, MI; four brothers, Kenya Wiliams of New York City, NY, Shomari Bingham of Ypsilanti, MI, Kelly Shumpert of Atlanta, GA, and Wali Rahad Ahmad of Muskegon, MI; ten sisters, Dena and Taneya (Antoine Coleman) Cage of Ypsianti, MI, Chasity of Joliet, IL, Denita Cage of Muskegon Heights, MI, and Elisha, Shontrease, and Aisha, all of Muskegon, MI; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Special Acknowledgements goes to Tamika (Micheal) Sharp; goddaughter, Leshia Crews; and godson, Milon Briggs. Special Recognition goes out to her grandmother, Teretha Rowell and Uncle Willie Rowell, Jr. who played a significant role in formal development as a loving and caring person, and also Roy Sargent who played a major role in her formal development. Summer was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Willie Rowell of Muskegon, MI; great-grand- mother, Rozel Rowell of Muskegon, MI; grandmother, Pauline Ware of Muskegon Heights, MI; grandfather, Roy Fox of Muskegon Heights, MI; and niece, Diamond Coleman of Ypsilanti, MI. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Toombs Funeral Home, 2108 Peck St., Muskegon Heights, MI. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mona View Cemetery.
